Keane Midfire 33 Warm

Keane Mid Fire 33 Warm is a beautifully speckled brown midfire clay with a small amount of fine grog, giving it just enough tooth to behave nicely without feeling like you are wrestling gravel.

It is suitable for both wheel throwing and handbuilding, and fires to a warm cinnamon brown in oxidation with a generous serve of white speckles. 

This is a lovely choice for functional ware, earthy forms, thrown ware, handbuilt pieces, textured work, and pots where you want the clay body to be part of the finished surface rather than politely hiding under the glaze. In other words, it has range. Clay with emotional depth.

Studio note

As with all clay bodies, test your glazes before committing to your favourite mug, your best platter, or anything you have already emotionally bonded with. Speckled and darker clay bodies can shift glaze colour beautifully, dramatically, or with a level of mischief that deserves respect.
