This is a wheel class for people everyone from “I’ve never touched clay” through to “I can make a cylinder, but it has strong opinions”.

Spend the term making things. Lots of things. Cups, bowls, slightly questionable vessels, and the occasional piece that comes out far better than expected. Along the way, Danya will help you’ll get a feel for what the clay is doing and how to convince it to do something else.

Danya trained in sculpture at the National Art School and holds both a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Ceramics. She has a strong eye for form and a knack for spotting exactly what needs adjusting (usually something small, but important).

This is a class suitable for all levels for student 16 and up.

All tools and materials are provided, including access to pugged clay. Work will be fired and ready for collection throughout the course as it is ready.
