We welcome our young potters!
We're thrilled to have your young artist join our pottery family! At Throw Clay Studio, we believe in fostering creativity, growth, and a whole lot of fun through the art of pottery. To ensure everyone has a fantastic and safe experience, we've put together our Young Potters Policy. This document outlines our commitment to creating a positive, nurturing environment for our budding clay enthusiasts.
Please take a moment to review this policy, which covers everything from age-appropriate classes to safety measures and communication channels. Age Requirement
- Young potters must be 7 or older to participate independently in our pottery classes. Younger potters can generally be accommodated on a case by case basis generally with a parent or carer participating as well. Please discuss your needs with us before booking.
Supervision
- A qualified instructor or supervisor will be present at all times during the pottery sessions involving young participant.
Parental/Guardian Consent
- Parents or legal guardians are required to provide written consent for their child's participation, including emergency contact information.
Health and Safety
- Young potters must adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the instructor.
- Protective equipment, such as aprons or smocks, will be provided and must be worn as directed.
Class Content
- Class content will be age-appropriate and tailored to the skill level of young participants. We reserve the right to adapt the projects and materials being used in a class if we feel it necessary.
- Instructors will ensure a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Respect and Behavior
- Young potters are expected to treat fellow participants, instructors, and studio equipment with respect.
- Disruptive behavior may result in a discussion with the parents or, if necessary, removal from the class.
Communication
- We'd like to make sure our young potters have the best possible experience. Please make sure to communicate any concerns or special requirements prior to the class starting.
Photography and Media
- We acknowledge that out young potters are extremely photogenic.
- Photographs or videos of young potters may be taken for educational or promotional purposes, and parental/guardian consent will be sought before any images are published.
Emergency Procedures
- In case of an emergency, parents or guardians will be contacted immediately using the provided emergency contact information.
By enrolling a young potter in our classes, parents or guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by the terms of this policy. We are dedicated to fostering a love for pottery in a secure and enjoyable setting.
